Founder and Executive Director

After many years of helping diabetics across the country, Joe saw first hand the struggles the elderly have when attempting to participate in their activities of daily living. Furthermore, he saw how dangerous poor quality healthcare and medical supplies can be. In 2003 Joe lost his mother to complications with her diabetes. After this tragic event, it was only a matter of time until Joe felt a calling to create a platform where America could come to get objective medical information, insurance updates, and tools to be able to practice better personal healthcare. By not allowing any other circumstances to deter him from his goal and by sacrificing many days and nights, Joe was able to create NILA to be exactly what he envisioned it to be. Joe would like to welcome you to NILA. “Our mission is that you take advantage of the information on this site and in the newsletter, and then allow it to assist you in making your healthcare, insurance, and medical equipment decisions. No matter where you are or who you are I want NILA to be there for you 24 hours a day.”

Alongside Joe Ganem in his professional and personal life, Cathy was introduced to the healthcare industry by her close dealings with many diabetics. After walking with Joe through the tragic loss of his mother and through her personal experience with thousands of elderly and diabetics, Cathy quickly began to share Joe’s vision for NILA. “I remember thinking that we can no longer stand by as sensitive and delicate people make decisions based off of empty promises. I want to make a difference in the lives of those in my family and in the lives of everyone that is willing to listen. I want to be responsible for guiding people to the insurer, medical equipment provider, or Doctor that will practice the same integrity that you expect them to.” It is with Cathy’s commitment to the NILA family that we will continue to make a difference…one patient at a time…every time.
